Your First AI-Assisted Pull Request for Good
We know that it can be intimidating to contribute to open source and many people are unsure of how to get started. Join us for an exciting, hands-on workshop where you'll have the opportunity to make a real difference in the world through open source! In this session, we'll be leveraging the power of GitHub Copilot to contribute to a project that directly benefits a deserving nonprofit organization.
During the workshop, you'll be guided through the process of creating a pull request for a carefully selected open-source project. The best part? We're hoping to have a representative from the nonprofit join us, giving you the chance to interact with and understand the impact of your contribution on the people you're helping. It's a unique opportunity to see the tangible results of your coding efforts!
Throughout the session, we'll demonstrate how GitHub Copilot can enhance your coding experience and streamline your contributions. To ensure you can fully participate in this hands-on workshop, we encourage you to arrive early as spots will be filled on a first-come, first-served basis until we reach capacity. We'll provide access and instructions on setting up GitHub Copilot so you can hit the ground running and make the most of this impactful experience.
