Betty Enyonam Kumahor is the Managing Partner of the digital advisory firm, The Cobalt Partners. In its short 18 months, The Cobalt Partners has expanded its presence to three countries: Ghana, Nigeria, and Kenya. With three partners and over 50 consultants, specializing in design, digital, and technology, the firm has acquired over 500 clients through two successful acquisitions.
Betty was Regional Managing Director of Pan-Africa for ThoughtWorks, a global IT consulting firm. Under her leadership, ThoughtWorks was nominated as the Best African Company of the Year 2013 by the African Business Awards, in collaboration with NASDAQ. ThoughtWorks made significant contributions to the continent, working with diverse clients, including some of the largest, most innovative, and socially impactful organizations.
Betty is a sought-after speaker, addressing audiences across Africa and internationally, in countries such as the United Kingdom, United States, and Australia. She focuses on digital innovation, particularly highlighting the concept of frugal digital innovation that can be exported from emerging economies. Before joining ThoughtWorks, Betty worked with Ernst & Young, where she led the Service Delivery Technology function for their Global Advisory practice. She was key in expanding the firm's IT and Program Advisory Services practices in West Africa, serving clients in telecommunications, financial services, government, and the public sector.
In addition to her professional achievements, Betty has contributed to various committees and organizations, including the Ministerial Select Committee of Ghana’s National Broadband Policy and as a Special Advisor to the Ghana Association of Software and Information Technology Services Companies (GASSCOM).
Betty has spoken at numerous events and conferences on technology and telecommunications in Africa, including the University of Ghana 2013 Convocation, Commonwealth Telecommunications Organization (CTO) events, Chatham House, ISACA, Outsourcing Summits, and the Women of West Africa Entrepreneurs conference, among others. She is also passionate about mentoring young women, having participated in events like the Zonta Women’s Career Advice Fair, where she guided over 400 secondary school girls.
