Successful technology experiences tension between the desire to be stable and the desire to evolve. Java owes much of its popularity over the last 20 years to its stability and reliability. But in an ever changing world, the technology we rely upon must change too, or risk becoming obsolete. In this session you will hear first hand some of the experiences, pitfalls and opportunities inherent in navigating this minefield from the leader of the Java group at Oracle and the OpenJDK governing board.
