Put Your Thoughts on the Wire with Bro.org
Bro (tongue-in-cheek reference to Big Brother) is a domain specific programming language and platform that was created in order to make it possible to do real time analysis of very large computer networks. Large Universities and research institutions have been the traditional stomping grounds for the platform but it is now being used by many organizations to understand and secure their own networks. All of these organizations are now seeing the benefit of peering into their networks and place a domain specific programming language "on the wire" enables security analysts to get better visibility and improved detection. Seth will be talking about his years of "putting his thoughts on the wire" and talking about intrusions that this approach has discovered.
