Avoiding the Nightmare on Elm Street
We are building a Log Aggregator that will change the world - Humio. We needed a LOT of data to be display in a web UI for streaming results from big data queries at Real Time.
It was a green field project and we could go with any tech we wanted, we chose Elm. Today we are one of the World's biggest production systems that use the Elm language.
This talk is about ALL THE PAIN AND SUFFERING we went through using Elm in the early days - and why we still believe we chose the right tool for the job.
This is a war-story from the last year of work in Scala, Kafka and Elm.
